Fako Women Development Association (FAWODA) groups from the Bonavada, Bonjongo and the West Coast areas were happy recipients of household and farming tools from Hon. Emilia Monjowa Lifaka, Member of Parliament for Buea Rural, and Vice Speaker of the National Assembly recently.

The gifts estimated at FCFA Five Million included, rice, oil, cutlasses, rain boats, hand carts, wheelbarrows, salt, and plastic bowls. The ceremony to hand over the donation was organized on 12 May at the Bokova Centre for Education and Action (CEAC) in the presence of Mrs. Mofa Judith, Regional Delegate for Women's Empowerment and the Family, the visiting Mayor of Idenau, local traditional rulers led by Chief Mokossa John and hundreds of women from Buea Rural, the constituency of Hon. Lifaka.

Hon. Lifaka sensitised the women on the current biometric voter registration drive and urged them to massively enrol on electoral registers when the time comes. She explained that biometric registration meant that either photographs or fingerprints would be required from potential voters in order to register them. She called on the women to exercise their civic rights by using their numbers to construct their choices on the political scene.

A fashion parade and songs of praise animated the occasion, recalling the magnanimity of Hon. Lifaka as someone who has never detached herself from her voters. Her previous outing was in Idenau where she donated money and material to CPDM Section militants.
