President Paul Biya saluted for giving Bui a chance to serve the Senate.

The venue was the Nso Fon's palace and it was a moment on August 17, 2013 to celebrate the election of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement ,CPDM's Emma Lafon Eno into Cameroon's first ever Senate. Speaker after speaker at the crowd pulling event took time off to salute the National Chairman of the CPDM for endorsing the candidature of the illustrious daughter of Bui for the elections of April 14, 2013. In effect, the event became a rare moment to demonstrate the strength of the ruling party in Bui and preparedness to emerge victorious during the September 30 twin elections.

The Mayor of Jakiri, Shang Lawrence set the tone when on behalf of his peers in Bui told the Senator that Bui councilors saw her worthy of representing the entire division, reason why they overwhelmingly voted for her in the elections that put in place the first Senate in Cameroon. He however, told the Senator that priority issues in Bui hang around the completion of the ring road and the transformation of the Jakiri Veterinary School into a faculty of the University of Bamenda.

With a professional career that spans over 30 years within the higher education sector, Senator Lafon Emma takes credit as a dynamic staff with respect for hierarchy and proven diligence in her duties. It was against this background that Dr. Gabsa Wilfred from the Ministry of Higher Education described her as "Good Substance" for the Senate. Many found in her, a blessing to Bui Division adding that her rich professional career will certainly benefit the Bui community and Cameroon in general. An ecumenical service earlier, prayed God to help Senator Emma Lafon and her colleagues to lead Cameroon in the fear of God. Homosexuality, they stressed must never be a subject in the Senate because it is against religion and the culture of the Cameroon nation.

Curtains dropped with Senator Emma Lafon urging Bui people to file out, retrieve their voters' cards and effectively vote on September 30, 2013 election in their show of gratitude to President Biya for achievements registered in Bui under his leadership.
