CAF President Issa Hayatou is set to visit Uganda for the first time in his 25-year reign at the helm of African football.

The Cameroonian has confirmed his arrival on Thursday for a one-week visit accompanied by his general secretary Hicham El Amrani, who has been in office since September.

They are expected to attend the 2012 CECAFA Congress that is due at Serena Hotel this Friday.

FUFA spokesman Rogers Mulindwa hinted that Hayatou will lead a powerful delegation in African football. He will meet the FUFA executive shortly after his arrival.

Other than just attending the CECAFA Congress and subsequent matches, it is not clear whether Hayatou will try to reconcile Uganda's wrangling football administrators.

It is also reported that Hayatou will hold talks with the Sports Minister Hon. Charles Bakabulindi during his stay. Hayatou is also expected to use the visit to strengthen his relationship with football chiefs in the region.
