Candidates taking part in the the 17th professorial examination of the African and Malagasy Council of Higher Education (CAMES) are in day two of writing this 4th November, 2014.
The 191 candidates from 19 African universities have so far expressed optimism on the outcome of the examination.
They are being evaluated on three different aspects by a 158-man jury:
-Scientific works of the candidate.
-Presentation of a 45-minute lesson after a 5-hour preparation period.
-Practical test on the candidate’s discipline.
Successful contenders will be approved to become professors in Human Medicine, Pharmacy, Odontostomatology, Veterinary Medicine or Animal Production meanwhile those who fail will have another opportunity in 2016.
According to past statistics the success rate is approximately 85 percent.
Cameroon is hosting the CAMES examination for the second time.
