CAMES Exam: nine Cameroonians admitted

The 17th professorial exam of the African and Malagasy Council of Higher Education (CAMES) has ended in Yaounde with an over 80 percent success recorded.

The results were proclaimed this Tuesday 11th November 2014 at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

Nine out of the ten candidates from Cameroon succeeded in the examination.

The Secretary General of CAMES, Bernard Mbatchi revealed that this year’s edition registered groundbreaking results in the fields of Human and Veterinary Medicine.

Some striding performances were also recorded during the exam especially in the first test during which all candidates presented over 30 scientific articles as against the at least 25 recommended in the exam instruction.

A Cardiologist, Sergne Abdou Ba disclosed that there was a candidate who presented as many as 49 scientific articles.

The General Supervisor of the exam, Professor Charles Gombe Mbalawa expressed satisfaction with the successful organisation of the event and the outstanding performance of candidates this year.

The successful candidates will be approved to become full professors in Human Medicine, Pharmacy, Odontostomatology, Veterinary Medicine or Animal Production.

In the meantime, the unsuccessful few could book the next appointment in 2016 to take part in the 18th session of the examination.
