The National President, Dr Adamou Ndam Njoya on April 25, 2016 in Yaounde, granted a press conference in prelude to the event.
The National President of the Cameroon Democratic Union, (CDU), Dr. Adamou Ndam Njoya, has reiterated the core values of his party in promoting republican, ethical and patriotic values that the party took off with upon creation in 1991.
The press conference which held yesterday at the party’s headquarter in Yaounde, in prelude to the celebrations of the party’s silver jubilee on May 9 and 10, 2016, provided the platform for Dr. Ndam Njoya to revisit the creation, evolution and the perspective of the political movement.
He stressed on the strength of an opposition single party which unfortunately has not been able to see the light of the day. The CDU which he described as a laboratory of ideas is in favour of the constitutional amendment. He said it is time to introduce a second round majority rule in the presidential election in Cameroon like in other countries in Africa.
The revision of the Electoral Code, he added; will guarantee a free, fair and transparent election at all levels. During the press conference, plans were also divulged on the construction of a cultural centre that will also have a library in Foumban, West Region of Cameroon.
The 25th anniversary of the CDU is scheduled to take place at the Yaounde Conference Centre. Read details of the evolution, perspective in the following exclusive interview granted Cameroon Tribune by the CDU National Chairman.
