Some 10 Cameroonians drawn from around the country can now successfully begin a self-sustained life after building their capacities on Mushroom cultivation in a 2-day workshop organized by CERUT Limbe at the headquarters in Mile II.

The participants were schooled on how to grow healthy mushroom from seeds to its maturity through local methods that cannot take up to a month. Under the tutoring of Mr Mesumbe Bismarck, the participants were lectured on all the functionalities of Mushrooms and then taken to the farm for demonstration where the tutor showed them through simple techniques on how to grow their own Mushroom to maturity.

Each of the participants with directions from their tutor planted their own mushrooms and then took them to their houses for self-monitoring.

The somewhat two days infotainment schooling was characterized by heavy empowerment and building of capacity with each participant leaving of CERUT in a satisfactory mode while thanking God they made the right choice in taking part in the workshop.

According to the organizers, the empowerment for Cameroonians to take personal initiatives in handling complex unemployment problems is now CERUT's prime objective and they promised to organize the Mushroom and other workshop for civic empowerment on a monthly basis.
