Late September 2014, the national cocoa and coffee Board (NCCB), revealed that Cameroon robusta coffee exports reached 17,247 tonnes.
This level of exports exceed 3,000 tonnes, the overall exports of this variety during the year 2012-2013. Logically, through this slight rebound of the production of robusta, which generally represents 95% of the coffee produced in Cameroon, the national coffee production, including arabica, should turn around 20,000 tonnes in the year 2013-2014.
A production that still remains below 38,127 tonnes produced during the 2011-2012 campaign, but mostly away from the objectives of the recovery of the cocoa-coffee sectors plan recently adopted by the Cameroonian Government.
This plan, which requires financing amounting to 600 billion Cfa francs over 5 years (2015-2020), aims to increase the production of robusta coffee at 150,000 tonnes and that of Arabica to 35,000 tonnes by 2020.
