The national social insurance fund (CNPS), the secular arm of the Cameroonian State social security, will launch on December 1, 2014, the registration of voluntary contributors in all its centres across the country.

This is a new era which opens an old-age pension in Cameroon, which takes into account only workers in the private sector (CNPS) and the public sector (Ministry of Finance).

This revolution is in line with what Cameroonian Prime Minister, Philémon Yang, expressed in the form of a decree, laying down the terms and conditions of support for the voluntary contributors such as pensioners, the disabled and death insurance on 13th August 2014.

This will include 'people with contributory capabilities, but who are not subject to a mandatory coverage against the risks of old age, invalidity and death. Workers who do not meet the requirements for affiliation to the general regime or any special social security scheme are those who were formerly insured but ceased to fulfil the conditions of coverage under the general scheme.
