The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, last Thursday organised a one day seminar at the Yaounde Conference Centre to bring order among its MPs and Senators and discipline its parliamentarians at a time when there seems to be division between its Members of Parliament.

The seminar came as MPs from the National Assembly were annoyed by the fact the Senate did not come to defend its 2014 budget like any other structure.

Four presentations punctuated the seminar: The first focused on the complementarity between MPs and senators; the second focused on the role or contribution of parliamentarians in the implementation of the greater achievement program of the Head of State. Another was devoted to what the party expects from its elected lawmakers to its influence.

Finally, the parliamentarians were also sensitized on the activities to be undertaken outside parliamentary sessions.

The presentations were animated by a team of CPDM bigwigs coordinated by Prof. Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, Minister of External Relations who told reporters at the start of the seminar that it was an initiative of the National President of CPDM party implemented by the General Secretariat of the Central Committee of the party.

Last week’s seminar held in the wake of controversies that marked the beginning of the mandates of MPs and senators last year. These elected CPDM officials fueled debate on the review of the draft budget of the Senate by MPs and the order of protocol of the elected chambers.

In secret, some government ministers said they do not understand the content of the questions of some CPDM MPs to them.

Speakers at the seminar included former Minister, Prof. Elvis Ngolle Ngolle, the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute amongst others.
