CPDM takes innovations to north west supporters

Central Committee officials were in the North West for a sensitization exercise.

Discussions on the modernization of the basic texts of the CPDM were at the forefront of a one-day seminar held in the Bamenda Congress Hall last Saturday June 2, 2012. The Central Committee Delegation, led by Francis Nkwain drilled the supporters on the new aspects of the Law. The seminar that brought together, substantive and alternate members of the Central Committee, members if government, members of the WCPDM and YCPDM National Bureau, CPDM, WCPDM and YCPDM section presidents, members of Parliament and Mayors of the party was a rare moment for exchanges that led to the better understanding of the major innovations of the basic texts of the party. The various presentations by Dr Ndi Fontah Boma, Madam Emma Eno Lafon, and Professor Ephraim Ngwafor highlighted the resolution of the 3rd ordinary congress, revision on basic texts and presentation of law No 2012/001/ of 19th April 2012 on the Electoral Code. It came out from their various presentations that the major innovations included the harmonisation of the composition of the executive body of the basic organs of the party, the modalities for the election of the executive members of the basic organs of the party as well as the relationship between the CPDM and specialised organs of the party.

At the end of the seminar, the head of the Central Committee delegation, Francis Nkwain called on supporters present to take the knowledge gained to the grass roots. He said the various section and sub section presidents have to organise meetings to enlighten their supporters on the major changes and obviously implement it thereof. He urged them to be proud of the new electoral code as it is a major step into modernity, adding that it can still be perfected.

He reminded them that the party is not threatened in any way by the fight against corruption rather it is proud of the fight.
