This was during the party's campaign of proximity over the week-end.

The campaign trail of the Cameroon People's Party (CPP) was in the Douala I Council area. The CPP caravan went sweeping the streets of the municipality, passing on the message of their care and concern of the populace.

It made stopovers at Terminus Akwa, Sandaga Market, Total Besenguè, Deido, among other places. To Edith Kahbang Walla, party President, the purpose of the caravan was to meet the people face-to-face, exchanged with them, get them acquainted with CPP candidates and make sure they agree with it.

The party bountifully distributed brooms to residents in accordance with its campaign slogan "Let's sweep Cameroon of all vices".

Among militants of the CPP were members of the platform, consisting of the Cameroon Democratic Union (UDC), the Alliance of Progressive Forces (APF), the Union of the Populations of Cameroon (UPC) and the Cameroon People's Party (CPP). The platform members were there to consolidate the resources of the four parties to secure victory in the upcoming municipal and legislative elections.
