Alfred Mbongo Ngoe, Mayor of Ekondo Titi Council is alleging that every year the Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) management spends over 54 million CFA FRS as maintenance cost for a non-existent antenna in the area. The Mayor regrets that authorities in Yaoundé know that Ekondo Titi has CRTV signals – there are actually none, he said.

He disclosed that about FCFA 54million is siphoned yearly for the rehabilitation on a non-existing CRTV antenna in the area and the authorities in Yaoundé are comfortable that EkondoTiti is receiving the signal.

The Mayor made his regrets during the second ordinary session of the Council during which a budget of FCFA 550.000.000 was voted to transform the municipality in 2015. Mayor Mbongo chaired the session under the supervision of the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Ndian, Ntou’ou Ndong Chamberlin.

Mayor Mbongo said the budget is designed to accelerate the development road map of the municipality and deliver on their campaign promises.

He said that the road map needs the participation of all and sundry if the councilors must meet up with the millennium development goals of the municipality in terms of socio-economic development.

The Mayor narrated how much has been achieved and more still needs to be done. The issue of water remains a big problem in the municipality and the Mayor assured that plans are already being completed for the FCFA 450million financial package from FEICOM to fast track the water project.

The SDO on his part called on the councilors to understand that they have a responsibility to transform the municipality. He called on them to ensure that hygiene and sanitation is improved. That they take advantage of the ongoing decentralization and make things happen for the municipality.
