The Parish Pastoral Council of the St. Charles Lwanga Parish of Molyko Buea, sister parish to the CUIB Corpus Christi Parish have been appreciated for housing the university parish and for assisting in the spiritual life of the CUIB community, particularly the students.
This was during an exchange meeting recently organized by the President of CUIB, Rev. Fr. George Nkeze.
According to the President, the exchange meeting is aimed at fostering community engagement and to enlighten and keep the sister parish informed of the activities and purpose of the University. He further mentioned that the parish was the University’s first neighbor.
In this light, the representatives of the parish were enlightened on the academic system of evaluation (50 % practical, 50% exams), the points of pride, the community engagement activities carried out by the students as well as the mission and vision of the university. They were called to propose areas in which the institution could extend its community engagement in the parish.
On this note, speaking on behalf of the Parish Pastoral Council, the chairman Njomo Kevin, expressed their joy and called the meeting an icebreaker for both parishes. He appealed to the institution to get involved in activities of the St. Charles Lwanga Parish such as holy feasts, workshops to train Christians and also assist in restructuring the documentation center of the parish.
The merry meeting came to close with the handing of a token to support the renovation and expansion of the church used by both parishes to the chairman of the St. Charles Parish Pastoral Council by the President of CUIB, Rev. Fr. George Nkeze.
