CUIB seniors in transition honored at Gala

Fulfilling one of its annual traditions, seniors in transition have been termed the “batch of the first” by the President Rev. Fr. George Nkeze during the seniors in transition gala in honor of the seniors on December 13, at Chariot Hotel.

While welcoming the seniors in transition, guests as well as faculty and staff, the President said he called them the batch of the first because of the many rewarding activities and innovations carried out.

The thanked and appreciated the class for their creativity extending special thanks to Momo Bertrand and Zommi Vanessa, president and vice president of the Student Government Association (STUGA) for the 2014/2015 academic year.

A year characterized by many seminars, trainings as well as the winning of awards by some of the students such as Zommi Vanessa and Manga Yannick. He further expressed warm words of thanks to the protocol for the tireless effort put in to ensure a successful party: portraying “what excellence looks and feels like in CUIB.”

The President, Fr. George declared the gala an informal and interactive occasion for the seniors in transition to socialize with faculty and staff who are there for them out of the academic milieu: living the Economy of Communion philosophy.

In his take home message to the seniors in transition he said the University is proud of the students beckoning them to know that CUIB is their home: thus the university will walk and work with them as they leave.

The event culminated with the cutting of the significant commencement cake of the batch of the first alongside entertainment from CUIBY with the gala ending in dance, dance, dance.
