Cabinet Reshuffle; Northwest in, Northwest out

This Friday 2nd October 2015, a Presidential decree appointing 17 new Ministers in Cameroon brought mixed feelings to Momo Division of the Northwest Region.

While Ama Tutu Muna from Ngyembo in Momo who hitherto was Arts and Culture Minister was shown the door out of government, the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya appointed Mbah Acha nee Foumunda Rose Ngwari from Batibo to head the supreme State Audit.

Reports from Momo generally talk of mixed emotions. While some opinion leaders express surprise as to how a Muna could be kicked out of government with a very strong physically expressed attachment to the ruling CPDM party, others who see the supreme State Audit function as more dignifying are of the opinion that it is better than Ama’s ministry.

Mbihbe Sylvester a political scientist talking to hiltopvoices on phone from Yaounde observed that the Muna’s have been in the system for too long. “It is just natural that they take a break and give room for others.” he said. “Mbah Acha Rose is a lady of substance whose trappings are clear particularly in the judiciary.” He added.

Prior to her appointment Mbah Acha Rose was serving as the President of the Regional administrative court in the Northwest region.
