Passengers of the Boeing 737NG (TJ - QCA) of Camair-Co, heading to Yaounde from Garoua on 20th February 2015, are thankful to God following an experience with forced landing.

"This is a miracle. We flew for 10 minutes before it was detected that the door of the appliance was not completely closed and that the internal pressure of the aircraft increased as we gained attitude.

Imagine what could happen if we had flown for about 20 minutes.", explained Alhadji Bouba, one of the passengers.

It was around 21: 47pm February 20, 2015, when the Boeing 737 took off from Garoua to Nsimalen international airport. It was carrying 117 passengers. Boarding was done according to standards.

Only ten minutes after the plane's departure, Camair-Co employees in service in the evening were recalled for an emergency. The aircraft which took off a few minutes rather was conducting manoeuvres of approach landing on the tarmac at the airport.

"I had just arrived home when I received the phone call from my boss ordering me to get back to my place of duty immediately.

He had just time to tell me that it was a QRF, the aircraft must make a return to the ground by a technical incident," said an employee of the Camair-Co in service at the airport in Garoua.

Sources close to the airport, a steward reported an anomaly of the door to the captain, Félix Omgba. The latter went down and checked the condition of the door. But given that the scoreboard reported no abnormalities, he decided to take off. "The failure was played on two or three centimeters at the time of take-off of the aircraft.

Therefore, it was not easy to notice. Probably the pressure of the air aloft had increased the opening of the door. Thank God it ended well ", explained an officer of airports in Cameroon.
