Belgium would’ve funded a project of extension of drinking water for 60 million euros as part of the Belgian-Cameroonian cooperation.

The newspaper L’Epervier edition of March 22, 2016, said that some personalities in Cameroon are jailed because of misuse found in the funds allocated for the projects. One learns that Belgium claims from the Cameroon government 39 billion FCFA. It is a story that dates back to the year 2010.

The funding provided by Belgium was on a proposed rehabilitation, reinforcement and extension of drinking water systems.

“It was for 52 centers throughout the country. The signing of the financing agreement between Cameroon and Belgium represented by the company Balteau SA allowed a company called Aspac-CEMAC-Sarl to pilot this project in collaboration with the Camwater and the Ministry of Energy and Water. A strong smell of embezzlement emerges in this case within the Camwater,“ writes L’Epervier.

About the amount claimed, the newspaper indicates that it would have boosted the production of water by the water distribution company in Cameroon and even her partner structures as the Camerounaise des eaux.

“Shall Paul Biya leave unpunished this affront? Who are the different people who intervened in this case? “Asks the newspaper.
