Boko Haram terrorists have been repelled in a new encroachment in northern Cameroon. They were engaged in a three-hour intense fighting with the coalition forces at Fotokol on the night of February 1, 2015.
This occurred at a time when Cameroonian and Chadian troops have gone on the offensive in the war against the insurgents.
The Chadian Army announced on January 31, 2014 that its soldiers had, through airborne strikes, killed between 175 to 200 members of the Nigeria-based Islamist sect in the border town of Gambaru. Three Chadian troops also died through explosives in the same battle.
Meanwhile the weekend battles were simultaneously coordinated with a deflated attack by the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State in Nigeria.
