The Minister Delegate in charge of the Commonwealth granted audience to visiting French MPs on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.
The almost thirty-minute audience granted the visiting French parliamentarians by the Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of the Commonwealth, Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, Wednesday 28 January, 2015, was to brief the Minister on their mission to Cameroon.
According to the head of the delegation, Philippe Baumel, their visit to Cameroon is within the framework of the French Parliamentary Informative Mission on the “Stability and Development in Central Africa”.
He told Cameroon Tribune shortly after the audience that they chose Cameroon for the data collection in the field. The mission, he explained, is essentially to take stock on on-going infrastructural development projects sponsored within the framework of French Cooperation.
In the domain of security, the French MP held that France and Cameroon today face the same security difficulties with the barbaric terrorist threats.
Philippe Baumel, who led the delegation of three from the French National Assembly hopes that the two countries will seek common solutions to the security challenges. The delegation was accompanied by the French Ambassador to Cameroon, Her Excellency Christine Robichon.
