Cameroon – Germany: Relationship strengthened

The German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Gerd Muller has paid a working visit to Cameroon.

The Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi received the German Minister at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport this 12th March 2015.

Minister Gerd Muller and his delegation from Germany will visit Cameroonian authorities and hold discussions till March 15th 2015.

The Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo was amongst the first Cameroon authorities to grant an audience to the German Minister.

During the audience, both Ministers discussed ways of strengthening economic ties between Cameroon and Germany.

The refugee situation in the East and Far North regions were also a point of focus during the tete-a-tete. The German Minister expressed his country’s determination to ensure food security in the refugee camps.

Minister Gerd Muller’s visit will also be highlighted by the signing of a memorandum between the German delegation and officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, to boost Cameroon’s agricultural sector.
