Cameroon and Imperial Holding Ltd., a closely held Indian company, signed a 75 million-euro ($93 million) agreement for a potable water-supply project near the Central African country’s capital, Yaounde.

Imperial Holding will build a water-treatment plant in Mefou, 17 kilometers (11 miles) south of Yaounde that will supply 50,000 cubic meters to the city, state-owned Cameroon Radio Television reported, citing company Director Vaibhuv Duvvur.

The project also entails supplying an additional 20,000 cubic meters in 20-liter (5-gallon) containers for areas that don’t have running water.

Construction will start in January and is expected to take six months. Imperial will raise the necessary finance and run the project for 15 years before handing it over to the government.
