Cameroon occupies the 114th place in the UN ranking of 157 countries.

Every year, the UN released its ranking on the world happiness (World Happiness Report).

157 countries of the world are ranked by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, the life expectancy, or the absence of corruption. Cameroon is ranked 114th. The country of Paul Biya is classified among the most miserable in the world.

Cameroonians are nevertheless happier than Burundians. The country of Pierre Nkurunziza is at the tail of this ranking (157th).

Experiencing a socio-political crisis last year, Burundi is closely followed by another country at war, Syria (156th). Togo (155th), Afghanistan (154th), Benin (153rd), Rwanda (152nd) and Guinea (151th) are among the most unhappy.

Besides the poor countries, there are countries where life is good. The happiest country in the world this year is Denmark.

This Eastern European country won her place at the expense of Switzerland, who dethroned her in 2015. The Helvetic country goes back to the 2nd position. Iceland (3rd) completed the podium, followed by Norway (4th), Finland (5th) and Canada (6th).

In this ranking, the United States occupy the 13th position. They are better than Germany (16th), the United Kingdom (23rd) and France (32nd). The happiest country in Africa is Algeria (38th), ahead of Libya (67th) and Somalia (76th).
