The Cameroon defence forces have once again given a robust bashing on invaders of the terrorist sect, Boko Haram during an attack in the Far North Region.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Defence, a heavily armed convoy attacked the locality of Achigachia on the Cameroon side of the border in the evening of 18th September 2014.
The assailants met with a strong counter offensive from the Cameroon defence forces stationed in the area.
At the end of the violent exchange of fire that ensued, several attackers were killed and one Cameroonian was injured.
Two war weapons and several munitions were equally seized from the aggressors during the operation.
The latest attack comes less than a month after the creation of the Fourth combined Military Region and the fourth Gendarmerie Region with head quarters in Maroua for swifter and a more coherent coordination in the fight against the Islamist terrorist sect, Boko haram which is creating panic in North East Nigeria.
