Cameroon welcomed 910,000 international tourists and three million domestic tourists in 2014, according to figures released Thursday, 04 December, at the National Assembly by the Minister of tourism and recreation (Mintourl), Bello Bouba Maigari, in the defence of his draft budget 2015.
His budget amounted to F 9,504 billion CFA against 10,279 billion CFAF in 2014 fiscal year. An important part of the 2015 Mintourl budget is devoted to investment (6,300 billion CFAF) and the rest (3.204 billion CFAF) on operation.
During the recent sitting of the national tourism Council, held August 07 under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Bello Bouba Maigari had indicated that Cameroon by 2020, plans for the annual visit of two million foreign tourists and six million domestic tourists.
