Cameroonian Senior Police Inspector, Rosemary Newu Foingwe, working with the UN Peace Keeping Force in Darfur Region, South Sudan died recently after a protracted illness.
The deceased’s elder brother, Evaristus Nse Foingwe, said his sister died after suffering from backache for more than a month.
“After Rose struggled in vain to treat herself in Darfur, she returned to Cameroon. She struggled to get solace from her doctor in Yaounde in vain.
The mortal remains of Rose Foingwe were finally lowered down the grave at the Fuanantui Catholic Parish cemetery in Njinikom Subdivision on Saturday.
Representative of the Delegate General of National Security at the funeral ceremony described the loss of the lady as an irreparable loss to the police force. He also said that the deceased was a smart and agile police lady who lived up to expectation in the discharge of her duties.

Rosemary Newu Foingwe was born on June 4, 1966 at Njinikom. She attended the Catholic Primary School Fuanantui and Longla Comprehensive College Mankon in Bamenda before joining the police corps in 1985.
She worked in Bamenda in various capacities until she was transferred to Yaounde in 2002. She continued her career at the motorcycle escort service. In 2007, she was among the first troops that Cameroon deployed to Sudan in support of the UN Mission there.
