Last week, the Cameroonian Parliament adopted a controversial anti-terrorism law which the opposition and civil society accused of being too vague and leave the door open to abuse.

Journalists on their part are especially concerned, since this law could impose on them to reveal their sources.

Frederic Boungou, editor of the Messenger summarizes this anti-terrorism law as "A drug that kills".

For him, it is unacceptable as it allows a military tribunal to impose a reporter to disclose its sources. Two journalists have already been charged in October by a military court for refusing to reveal their sources after investigations on Boko Haram.

Haman Mana, the Editor in Chief of the daily Le Jour considers that the Cameroonian parliamentarians fear street demonstration especially anything similar to that in Burkina Faso.
