Cameroonian youths to study in Japan

The Japanese Ambassador to Cameroon, Kunio Okamura, on Monday August 17, 2015, offered a farewell dinner for three Cameroonian youths who received scholarships to study in Japan. The scholarships are in line with the African Business Education Initiative for Youth (ABE).

Speaking at the occasion, Kunio Okamura said cooperation between Cameroon and Japan is excellent. He called on the recipients to make good use of the opportunities offered them during their training and be good ambassadors for Cameroon. The participants; Bessong John Ebot, holder of a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Physics and Computer Sciences will study in the Yokohama University Graduate School of Engineering. His business proposal is “Developing a food drying eco-industrial plant.”

Ntah Nestor Asoh, holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting will study in the Kwansei Gakuin University’s Institute of Business and Accounting. His business proposal is “Transforming locally-grown rubber into biodegradable plastic paper.”

Ekotte Nelson, holder of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, will study in Kwansei Gakuin University’s Institute of Business and Accounting. His business proposal is “Creating a group of companies within the construction area (roads, real estate, buildings, rental automotive machinery, maintenance funding…”).

The objective of the ABE Initiative Master’s Degree and Internship Programme is to support young people who have the potential to contribute to the development of industries in Africa. The programme offers opportunities to study in Japanese universities and undergo internships at Japanese enterprises.

Beyond acquisition of skills and knowledge, the programme also intends to cultivate excellent personnel who can recognise and understand Japanese society and her enterprises.
