Cameroonians more determined to fight terrorism

Amadou Ali, Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of relations with the assembly and the Lamido of Kolofata in the Far North Region appeared to be the two personalities targeted by the group which apparently was heavily armed.

The population of the traditionally quiet sub-division situated some 90 kilometers from Maroua the capital of the Far North region is still in shock.

The Vice Prime Minister absent from home at the time of the attack went unharmed; unfortunately his wife and sister in law were abducted. Even more, his body guard was killed.

Vehicles were also seized from the home of vice Prime Minister who left Yaounde for the far north region to feast Ramadan with his kith and kin.

The Lamido-Mayor of Kolofata and his family (two children) were also abducted by this group.

The Cameroon’s defense forces alerted soon after, pushed back the Boko Haram assailants and secured the area.

The search for the abducted persons has intensified as security forces comb the area.

It was disturbing news to the public but one that heightens the determination to close in ranks and fight combat this group that is a nuisance to the people.
