Cameroon Railways (Camrail), the Cameroonian railway concessionaire has invested 600 million Cfa francs for 15 years for actions in the fight and prevention against HIV / AIDS in this company.
This figure was revealed 13 December 2014 in Yaoundé by Joseph Mofor, a company official, during a ceremony of baptism of new employees and goodbye for employees asserting their rights to retirement.
Officially, the prevalence rate of HIV in Cameroon is below the 5% from 2011, but is still among the highest in Central Africa and the West. According to INS statistics, this prevalence rate decreased from 1.2% in 10 years.
This was made possible thanks to the breakthrough progress made in the prevention and support for those infected, crusade in which companies played an important role to update their personnel on this disease.
