This was during the ordinary board meeting on Sunday, November 4.

The much announced trouble in canon ended up to be a storm in a tee cup as none of the dissenting members of the board of wise men was present during the ordinary board meeting of the club yesterday at the Sports complex in Warda-Yaounde thereby allowing deliberations to take place hitch-free. Elements of the Gendarmerie and police on standby to intervene in case of any trouble, roamed idly around the sport complex. At the end it was a united board of directors who issued a final communique to mark the end of the meeting and sang the Canon anthem with much nostalgia.

The major outcome of the board meeting was the reshufflement of the executive bureau with the appointment of Joachim Claude Essomba Abanda as new General Manager of the club in replacement of Roger Ebode who assumed the interim after the resignation of Louis Marie Ondoa. Pierre Wome Nlend was also appointed officer in charge of the recruitment and evaluation of players while Germain Noel Essengue was appointed the communication officer.

Quizzed on his loyalty to canon coming from Jeunesse Star football club of Ngoulemakong, Joachim Essomba said Canon was an inheritance from his fore-fathers which he intends to perpetrate. Pierre Wome declared that he is going to continue playing even with his new appointment as an official of the club. Two members of the board; Celestin Iyike and Mvondo Mbede Henri were excluded from the club for failing to pay their contributions and acting against the interest of the club during the past football season.

Outside the appointments and dismissals, the major recommendation was the transition of the club from an association to a limited liability company with shareholders and a capital of FCFA 100 million. A share was placed at FCFA 10.000 and a bailiff appointed to manage the operation. Celine Eko was charged with leading the transitional team until the first meeting of shareholders of the club on a date yet to be disclosed. According to the interim president, it is time for rigorous management of the financial resources of the club.
