This decision by the prefect of the Wouri came after another accident took place on Tuesday in Akwa.

On November 5, 2014 the prefect of the Wouri, suspended the movement of the "cargo", a kind of mini bus in the city of Douala until further notice.

The statement to prevent the circulation of these vehicles to the suburbs of the city was launched Wednesday by Naseri Paul Bea. The prefect, accompanied by colleagues from the different districts of Douala, local elected officials, law enforcement officers, officials of Metropolitan forces, went to some bus terminals of these vehicles to make this announcement. The prefect of the Wouri informed them that: "Playtime was over”.

This statement was made as a result of the fact that Tuesday night, one of these vehicles considered by Naseri Paul Bea as 'genuine gear of death', struck four people beside des Fêtes in Akwa. Fortunately, no deaths were registered on-site. If this had happened around 7pm, when a lot more people are usually seen around this area the worst would have happened.
