Following the Launch of the 2015 Commencement Exercises, the City of Saints and Scholars continued with the celebration of its flagship traditions and uniqueness.

Students, staff and Faculty members during community service carried out a clean up campaign of the Mile 17 Motor Park, Buea. While some students emptied thrash cans, others were involved in weeding, picking of thrash as well as sweeping through every nook and cranny of the park.

According to Student Government (STUGA) President Wache Gaelle Vanessa, community service and impacting communities is a distinctive tradition of the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) which goes beyond the walls of the Institution. Vanessa said it is for this reason that members of the City of Saints and Scholars go out to carry out community service especially in CUIB’s host Communities.

The coordinator of the EoC day Emile Mbella stated that, CUIB has been impacting its community and will stop at nothing to bring a paradigm shift in leadership. The President of the Mile 17 Motor Park Ngombi Emmanuel expressed contentment with the exploits of CUIB saying the environment truly looks better as compared to before the community service. He praised the President and Management of CUIB for taking such initiatives.

The EoC day was celebrated alongside commencement walk and volunteerism which are all flagship traditions of the university.
