The Governor of the central region presided over the launching ceremony for the preparation of this feast on Wednesday in Mfou.

The activities marking the 49th edition of the National Youth Day in the central region were launched yesterday at Mfou, capital of Mefou and Afamba Department.

The event was chaired by the Governor of the central region. Speaking to the youth of its administrative district, Joseph Otto Wilson did not fail to remind them of the efforts Government is making towards their success.

"The Cameroonian youth is aware that they are the future of Cameroon and I urge them to be more responsible," he said.

Indeed, the Cameroonian youth still need to be more vigilant than in the past, since the country is at war against the Islamist sect Boko Haram.

This is undoubtedly what justifies the choice of the theme, "youth and preservation of peace for an emerging Cameroon".

This was an opportunity for the Governor to urge the youth of his region to meet the challenges of patriotism following their objectives on their elders and of course correcting their mistakes.

To achieve this, according to Joseph Otto Wilson, they should have solidarity, be civilized and have the love of the homeland.
