Chinese Citic Group presents its proposals for projects in Cameroon

A delegation of Chinese investors of Citic Group, on a mission of exploration in Cameroon, was received in audience Thursday by the Prime Minister Philemon Yang.

At the exit of this conclave, the vice-president of the firm, Liu Guigen, indicated to have discussed with the head of Government its investment plans in this country.


Thus, on a package of 17 projects submitted by public authorities, Citic Group has expressed interest for the construction of 10,000 social housing, the realization of the 2nd phase of the motorway linking the political and economic metropolises, Yaoundé and Douala.

Cameroons host is also interested in the 2nd phase of the erection of Kribi (South) deep-water port, the railway connecting the city of Ngaoundéré (Adamawa) and the Chadian capital, N'Djamena as well as the realization of tramways in Yaoundé and Douala.


The details of the intentions of Citic Group, we learn, will be announced following meetings with heads of ministerial departments concerned with the areas in which it has an interest.
