Chinese Min of Foreign Affairs makes working visit to CMR

The Chinese Foreign Minister arrived in the late hours of Monday in the Cameroonian capital. Wang Yi, the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs is visiting the country at the invitation of Cameroon authorities.

Received at the airport by Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, the guest of Cameroon will have a first working session in the Hall of acts of the Ministry of External Relations. This will be followed by a press conference, before Mr. Wang Yi continues his contacts with the Cameroonian authorities.

Born October 19, 1953 in Beijing, Mr. Wang Yi is a diplomat by training. He graduated from the University of International Studies in Beijing, China and at Georgetown University in the United States of America. He spent 30 years of his career at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prior to his appointment in March 16, 2013, as Minister for Foreign Affairs of his country, he was in charge since 2008 of the relations between China and Taiwan.

As stated, a few days ago, the spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hong Lei, revealed that the visit of Mr. Wang Yi in Africa is a continuation of a tradition established in China since 1991.
