The Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril has been invited to Rabat, Morocco to take part in the annual forum of the Parliamentarians For Global Action.

The Secretary General of the global parliamentary network, Dr. David Donat Cattin served the invitation yesterday October 8, 2014 during an audience granted him at the Conference Centre by Hon. Cavaye within the sidelines of the ongoing 60th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference.

“We invited the Speaker to attend our annual forum to be held in Rabat, Morocco upon the invitation of the Speaker of Morocco and he graciously agreed to lead the delegation,” Dr Donat Cattin added. “We discussed cooperation between Cameroon, the Commonwealth and our global action. We are promoting human rights and the role of law.

We of course mentioned the very difficult crisis surrounding Cameroon with threats coming from the Central African Republic and the guerilla group, Boko Haram and other issues that are dangerous for a stable democracy,” he added.

The Secretary General of the Parliamentarians For Global Action said he and Hon. Cavaye also agreed that the role of law should be at the centre of the response to these threats.

The Rabat forum, he added, will provide space for all to work in synergy on the issues as well as put forward the importance of human rights, the role of law and international justice as remedy to threats that are putting in danger the civilian population.
