A funeral service was organised at the Yaounde Central Hospital on Thursday July 12.

One of the country's renowned medical specialists in hematology, Dr Marcel Monny Lobe was yesterday July 12 in Yaounde given a befitting farewell ceremony by the medical staff of the Yaounde Central Hospital where he held several posts before serving as Medical Adviser until his death on June 22 in France.

The farewell funeral service that held in the hospital's chapel yesterday Thursday July 12 afforded the clergy led by Pastor Simon Bolivar Njami Nwandi an opportunity to state that late Dr Monny Lobe who had saved so many lives had, through death, passed over to eternal peace and God's grace.

According to Dr. Bertrand Adjogo who spoke on behalf of the National Order of Medical Doctors of Cameroon, Dr. Monny Lobe had distinguished himself in the profession by always putting ethics, deontology, modesty, availability, and friendship at the centre of his profession. "He is not dead, but has simply changed consultation rooms," he said. On his part, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Fru Angwafo III noted that the presence at the service of several of his patients was enough testimony of the departed medical doctor's qualities.

Dr. Monny Lobe's mortal remains later received academic honours at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaounde I. He will be laid to rest tomorrow Saturday July 14 in his hometown, Dibombari in the Moungo Division, Littoral Region.
