Colonel Charles Claude Mbitha is dead

The Cameroonian military force is mourning Colonel Charles Claude Mbitha who died from an illness in Douala on Monday.

According to close friends, the senior army officer suffered some sort of stomach disorder. The deceased was said to have experienced excruciating pain in the stomach last weekend which led his friends to rush him to the Douala military hospital. He was subsequently taken to the general hospital in the same city where he died on Monday, January 05, 2015.

Charles Claude Mbitha, very popular in the army, was the Commander of secteur terrestre numéro 2 in Douala. Married and the father of several children, he died at the age of 52.
