Cameroon Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma Bakary has made public the aftermath of the Boko Haram attack on Kolofata.

The Cameroon government spokesman revealed that 143 terrorists were killed and a major war arsenal seized including assault rifles of all brands and communications equipment.

Minister Tchiroma noted that hundreds of Boko Haram militants were able to cross the border and tried to take the Cameroon army by surprise. But as soon as the army got the warning signals, the response was immediate and organized and violent clashes were triggered during more than five hours near the military camp and other hotspots in the town of Kolofata.

Issa Tchiroma Bakary officially confirmed the killing of Corporal Ako Bella and added that 4 other Cameroon servicemen were seriously injured.

The Minister utilized the press briefing to channel the unflinching support of the Cameroonian people to the armed forces on the war front who unfortunately sometimes pay with their lives to protect the homeland.

On behalf of the Government, the Minister of Communication urged the Cameroonian people to remain vigilant and to bring with immediate effect to the attention of the administrative authorities and defense forces any behaviour that seem suspicious to them in their respective environments.
