Questions continue to be posed as to whether Kolofata hostages kidnapped by Boko Haram have been released. This controversy stems from the fact that the media Monday night announced the release of some hostages.

However, in the midst of theses controversies, the Cameroonian government has declared through his spokesman that no hostage had previously been released. In preparation for any further attack, the Cameroonian army reinforced its device and adjusted its strategy in the far North. In response to all this recent attack, the Head of State, Paul Biya has sacked two senior military officers.

The violence of the last weekends attack in the far north of Cameroon leaves everybody puzzled. People wonder about the modus operandi of the Cameroonian army. "Boko Haram has always been able to attack military bases and take away weapons and ammunition. It seems that our army is sleeping and is never ready. They were able to attack the rapid intervention brigade formed to deal with any type of attack. This therefore indicates that there is something wrong in the Cameroonian army," notes Eric Kingué, specialist in military issues.

After the Head of State sacked two military officials in the Extreme North region, sources close to the Ministry of defence speculate some sort of delivery of reinforcements in the region. "It is to respond effectively to the rise of Boko Haram. This is a new era which opens in this fight against these forces of barbarism whose repeated attacks have caused extensive damage to Bargaram and Kolofata," responds the communications officer of the Ministry of defence.
