Cuba Seeks Closer Ties with Cameroon

The visiting Cuban envoy, the Director of Sub-Saharan Africa Affairs in Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hector Ignarza Cabrera Thursday, January 31 at the Ministry of External Relations discussed possibilities of strengthening relations between his country and Cameroon. Hectors Igarza Cabrera had discussions with the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth, Joseph Dion Ngute.

The visiting Cuban envoy, the Director of Sub-Saharan Africa Affairs in Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hector Ignarza Cabrera Thursday, January 31 at the Ministry of External Relations discussed possibilities of strengthening relations between his country and Cameroon. Hectors Igarza Cabrera had discussions with the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth, Joseph Dion Ngute. After over 30 minutes of discussions, the Cuban envoy disclosed to the press that they discussed the possibilities of strengthening relations with focus on opening embassies and exchange of visits by government officials. In more concrete terms, Cuba will want to cooperate with Cameroon in the fields of agriculture, sports, literacy, human resource development and health through the deployment of Cuban medical personnel in Cameroon.
