The former head of Ngomedzap is being accused by people in his locality of transmitting AIDS to some married women and unmarried damsels. This started from a homily by the Abbot Mbida Pekouma parish priest of the Sainte-Thérèse Akok - Ngomedzap parish on October 24 when he mentioned in his sermon that his flock should be very careful, because some authorities have decided to spread the AIDS virus in the city.

Feeling indicted, the man complained to the Bishop of Mbalmayo, Bishop Adalbert Ndzana to put pressure on his subordinate the Abbot Mbida Pekouma, so that the cleric will withdraw this statement.

This was done, the following week but unfortunately, the message had already gone viral. Residents have thus resorted to accusing the District Assistant of having transmitted the disease to several married women and some unmarried damsels in the locality. Some sources also stated figures like 32 married women and 20 girls.
