Faculty of Arts, letters and human sciences recorded its second female student to defend doctorate/PhD thesis in history since its inception.

History will record that Ms. Ada Djabou is the second female student to defend a doctorate/PhD thesis in history at the Faculty of Arts, letters and Human sciences in the University of Ngaoundéré from the inception of this institution in 1993.

She was also the first to pass in front of the panel chaired by Pr Daniel Abwa. Her thesis was on "the woman, knowledge and policy in northern Cameroon, 19th - 21st century".

A theme that allowed her to show how the traditions, customs and mores have long put the woman of the North out of the political field; a situation fuelled by low education of women from this part of the country.

The candidate received at the end of the defense an applause. Professor Daniel Abwa revealed that the 'current and interesting' subject was defended brilliantly.
