Douala: 15 million francs CFA recovered from a freed prisoner

Jean Daniel Ngaba is the 33-year-old suspect whose plans to flee with 15 million FCFA was halted thanks to the promptitude of some Gendarmerie forces in Douala.

The operation was carried out just two months after the suspect’s release from prison.

Eyewitnesses testify that Jean Daniel Ngaba seized the money from an Indian businessman on his way to the bank.

Fortunately, onlookers immediately alerted the Gendarmes who together with a driver intercepted the thief within an interval of 15minutes.

The 15 million francs were recovered from the thief and his loaded gun was also apprehended.

While Jean Daniel Ngaba is presently under custody pending further investigations, the 15 million FCFA has been handed to the rightful owner.
