A partnership between the University of Douala and Gicam came to fruition a few days ago. The two institutions signed this convention in the salle des Actes of the doctoral schools in Akwa.

Gicam came to highlight the role of each party and the execution of all the resolutions taken at the University forum. Also, they discussed the relevance of orienting the youth to fit well in the working environment after their university education.

The ultimate objective according to André Fotso was to mobilize all stakeholders around the 2 digits growth with the help of the economic world order by 2020. "It is our duty to contribute meaningfully to the process of the emergence of Cameroon," said the president of Gicam.

The motives of Gicam, were to creates wealth and employment while looking to produce quality human resource, an idea that also coincides with that of the Rector who is concerned with the unemployment of young people in higher education.

For Dieudonne Oyono, the private sector being the largest provider of employment was thoughtful to have established this type of relationship. This breakthrough would help to ensure that the courses taught at the University are in phase with the socio-professional environment.

Although this win-win partnership has many benefits, there are particular courses which when introduced to the youth would be beneficial to both parties.
