A double traffic accident occurred recently at Zoguela village, in the Borough of Atok, 40 km from Abong-Mbang.

From various sources, it was about 1:00 am when the first accident occurred. The truck driver with plate mercedès Hakim registered LTTR 222 AG, overloaded, carrying on board 03 passengers behind the truck and riding towards the Abong-Mbang-Ayos direction, heading to Yaoundé, attempted avoiding a collision with an unidentified vehicle which was driving recklessly in the opposite direction.

The driver of the mercedes truck was not successful with this attempt resulting in a collision. One person, a certain Babba, aged 22 years died at the spot while other damages were also recorded. The driver of the vehicle not identified meanwhile resorted to magic potion powder.

At the same time, an ambulance belonging to the regional hospital of Bertoua from Yaoundé, hit 2 cows at the same place of the accident. The two cows died instantly. The driver of the ambulance was however unhurt though ambulance was damaged.

Immediately, Samuel TESSOUBO, motor road platoon commander of Abong-Mbang, the Commander of the territorial brigade, Adamou Jean Albert, and their elements, rushed to the scene. Therefore, two surveys have been conducted, one to shed light on the causes of this double accident, and the other to look into the looting of cattle thereafter.
