At the Departmental delegation of transport, Mfoundi, located in Ekounou in Yaoundé, no candidate on the 500 eligible was questioned on the second day of examination for the issuing of driver’s license, as a result of the fact that a dozen vehicles blocked the review site.

One could read from the different signs "a true driver's licence in order to reduce the mortality rate on our roads"; "Yes to driving licences and not to the licence to kill" and others.

This was a movement staged by members of the national Union of driving school operators in Cameroon (SNEAEC). They require among other things, the end of the issuance of fraudulent licences, the end of corruption in sub-centres and driver's licence exam centres and the involvement of all members of the Board appointed by the Ministry of transport.

"After several unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue with the administration, we decided to proceed with this strike. This is to make ourselves heard. We had noted some violations and fraud during examinations.

For example, names came out of nowhere and replaced candidates who passed the exam and the departmental delegates are at the origin of this situation. It must change", says Thomas Noubonde the SNEAEC SG.

The event resulted, a few hours after, in consultation with the departmental delegate, Philippe Fernand Bala, to find sketches of solutions to different claims. But after an hour of interview, maintenance is interrupted by an impatient driving school proponent. The latter requires unionists free niche workshop so that the review takes place.

Denouncing the illegality of the strike, the delegate Department Philippe Fernand Bala, promised to everything possible so that the review takes place.
