They were installed into their functions on June 16, 2014 by the Rector, Professor Formethe Anaclet, in the presence of the Menoua SDO, Marche Joseph Bertrand.

The new officials include Ngamani Emmanuel, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences; Mvondo Ze Antoine David of the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural sciences and Ghogomo Tamouh Richard, Director of the Institute of Fine Arts in Foumban.

This followed their appointment by a presidential decree of May 4, 2014 while another ministerial text of May14, 2014, appointed Avana Tchuente Marie Louise as Head of the teaching staff; Tctoupie André as Head of the Department of Political science, Tamgoua Emile and Ngui née Ngontamag as Vice Deans in the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Research as well as Mvondo Awono Jean Pierre as Chief of the Centre for Forest, Water and Environment in Ebolowa.

In his installation speech, the Rector Formethe Anaclet underscored the important role the newly-appointed officials are expected to play in the follow-up of students’ academic research programmes.

After recounting their various biographies and describing installation ceremonies as occasions which give renewed impetus to the University’s administrative machinery, the Rector cautioned the new officials to be objective and upright in the exercise of their duties, adding that these human qualities which unfortunately are not taught in school are essential in leading men.

Professor Anaclet reminded the new officials that though their installations are all academic-oriented, because they are expected to ensure quality and excellent academic results, they must exercise good administrative, social and political abilities which remain a necessary ingredient to manage human beings and resources.

The new team appointed to the Faculty of Agronomy was told to intensify research and innovation towards the Second Generation Agriculture which is President Paul Biya’s wish.
