ECCAS and ECOWAS unite against Boko Haram

The continuous diplomatic mobilization against the terrorist sect Boko Haram continues at various levels. Presidents Denis Sassou N'Guesso of Congo and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, mandated by the economic community of Central Africa (States ECCAS), met with Nigerian and Ghanaian counterparts on Monday, 24th February in Abuja and Accra.

It was during the press conference in Accra, after maintenance between Sassou N'Guesso 'n', Obinag Nguema in Accra and the Ghanaian John Dramani Mahama, current Chairman of the economic community of the West Africa States, that it was revealed that the three heads of State agreed, on the principle of holding a bipartisan Summit ECCAS/ECOWAS in a place and a date to be set.

But before, and according to the official website of the Congolese president, "experts from Foreign Affairs and defence of the Member States of the two organizations will meet to prepare the documents.

This movement in Nigeria and Ghana from the two emissaries of ECCAS marks a turning point in the implementation of the resolutions of the last Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of peace and security in Central Africa (Copax).

In the final communiqué published on February 16 at the end of their meeting, the heads of State and Government of ECCAS asked presidents Teodoro Obiang Nguema and Denis Sassou N'Guesso, to explore with the Chairman of ECOWAS, the possibility of holding a bipartisan Summit between ECCAS and ECOWAS "to adopt a common strategy against Boko Haram.
